Here Come The... Men!

Your Groom

Croeso! Welcome!

My blog has consisted of women's wear, which is what I originally said I would do in my first post, however my fiancé read over my shoulder and complained that I had no male offerings so here we are.

I have mentioned previously that I'm having a Scottish wedding so this is for the traditional Scottish man. All images taken from Pinterest.
Prince Charlie dress is striking on any Scottish man.
With a choice of tartan to honour your clan or to tie in with a colour theme it will make any woman fall head over heels all over again.

The dress down look is less formal, but that may be a more comfortable look for your day.
The tuxedo is a formal suit that can look stunning on any man and not just for the Scott's haha!
Accompanied by bow tie or formal tie you can achieve many different looks for your day.

By adding a dash of colour to the waist coat, tie and button hole flower you can colour co-ordinate if that is the look your going for.

For the more dapper man, this paper boy look is perfect for a vintage style.

The Dress

All The Shapes

Croeso! Welcome!

I know I've already talked once about shape, but for this blog post I want to look in depth at each style.

A-Line

This style is best for plus size women.
Usually with corset back the figure is pulled into a beautiful hour glass, the skirt creates an A shape which hides any unwanted lumps and bumps.
Using an underskirt to create the large volume skirt.
 Ball Gown

This dress is perfect for a princess wedding day.
Usually the shape used in all Disney movies, it truly is most girls dreams, though I personally do not prefer this shape as I always feel there is something to hide in such a big skirt haha!
This shape is also handsome on plus size women though just as beautiful on every body shape.

 Empire Waist

The high waist and drop skirt is perfect for tall women with a column body shape.
This dress can be made as simple or as bejewelled as suits the wearer for any type of wedding.
Mermaid

If you have a beautiful figure or very confident in your body then this is the dress for you!
Figure hugging bodice to the knee then flaring out to give the affect of a mermaid figure, hence the name.
 The Mini

Brought about by the 60's the mini wedding dress is for a woman who has a beautiful body to flaunt and a confidence in herself and her style. As the image shows left the mini dress doesn't have to be boring.

  Tea Length

Beautiful short length wedding dress that is very 50's and chic. Perfect for a petite woman who may become drowned in floor length gowns or her preferred style is that of the 50's era.

Trumpet
Very similar to the mermaid the mermaid gown hugs your body all the way to the knees before it flairs out. The trumpet wedding dresses are fitted through the hips to mid thigh and then flair a bit less severely

Hairstyles

Hairstyles to Suit You

Croseo! Welcome!

As I'm planning my own wedding (the main reason I'm so terrible at up dating regularly, along with University work) I know how the small details make everything flow and come together.

Personally the look I'm going for is a simplistic, elegant, traditional affair that embraces my future husbands natural Scottish roots and some Welsh influences on my behalf. My hair is something I am humming and ahhing about, why is there so much variety?! Not that I should complain, we're lucky to have such talented stylists that can accommodate every woman's dream look, but when your indecisive it can be over whelming.

The low updo is a hairstyle that I'm enamoured with, one I'm most probable to have for my own big day! Here are some examples:

All images in this blog were taken from Pinterest.

Bright, bold and colourful hair is also rather popular, take a look at these examples:

Adding flowers to bridal hairstyles are also becoming increasingly popular.

There are so many options to create the perfect hairstyle for your wedding that it truly is personal choice and your own style.

MakeUp

You'll be the Prettiest Girl in the World to Him - Natural or Glamorous!

Croeso! Welcome!
A wedding makeup artist can be expensive, but this is your wedding so if there is a day to splurge on yourself this would be the day! However if your on a budget or simply refuse to pay the expense of an artist applying your makeup for you, then these looks can be done by yourself.

If you love bold, smokey eyes then I would highly recommend checking out my friend Hanaan's Blog where she shows her talent of applying makeup - I've already booked her services for my big day!

This natural look is just stunning if your uncomfortable wearing makeup or if you like the subtle effect.

This Hollywood Glamour look can be too much for some women, however some have the confidence to pull this bold look off and look glamorous!

These smokey eyes are just stunning, illuminating your eyes. Smokey eyes can be done in any colour to match your eye colour and make everyone envious!

Whether you wear makeup or not, you'll still be the most beautiful girl in the world to your man!

Your Supporting Girls

Maid of Honour, Bridesmaids, Junior Bridesmaids and Flowergirls

Croeso! Welcome!

Let's start with your little flower girl.

For me, personally, I fully believe in natural beauty.

I have two flower girls and I'm putting them both in ivory as I see this colour as a symbol of purity and innocence. I would have gone white, however my dress is ivory and I'm one of these colour co-ordinating brides to be!

You could add a dash of colour with a sash or you could have a coloured dress entirely!

The Little Pearl Boutique available in ETSY
This stunning headband is $27.00

Blessings & Blossoms Children Boutique have some beautiful pieces at very reasonable prices.
This gorgeous dress is £59.00

Maid of Honour, Bridesmaids & Junior Bridesmaids

Some women will want to differentiate between their Maid of honour and Bridesmaids, this can be done in a few ways: different colours of dresses, the length of the dress or even by adding a sash or jewellery.

I personally love having a different dress for each personality of the girls and in a different tone of one colour.
Like these images below from JLM Couture.

Hope you get some great inspiration!!

Mothers of the Bride & Groom

A Mother's Proudest Day

Croeso! Welcome!

Mothers of The Bride and Groom - Is there always a conflict between the two women?

My mother and aunt bought the same Laura Ashley dress for my cousins wedding - my aunt went back to the store and exchanged hers for a different one the morning of the wedding - that was a scary experience in itself and it was only by chance my aunt had left her dress at my grans where my mum saw it and was like 'Why is my dress here?' And everything went downhill from there.
Could you imagine if it was the mothers of Bride & Groom?

In movies and T.V programmes there is always a humorous conflict between the two women so how could this be countered in real life?
Why not take them both shopping and make it a bonding experience? This is a day of two families coming together so why not spend time as a small group of women to find their perfect dresses?

Here are a few different styles for Mothers of the Bride & Groom.

Light, airy and the soft pastel colouring makes this outfit ideal for a beach wedding.
From the website fiftyplus £61.50 for the dress and £48.00 for the jacket it is a brilliant bargain.

Also from fiftyplus this outfit is perfect for a traditional home soil wedding. The colour is suitable for winter and the skirt length means you wont be tripping up on your dress when dancing at night time.
£85.00 for the dress and bolero

Joanna Hope's lace dress is perfect for a grand occasion, simple yet elegant and the lace overlay gives a touch of sophistication £140.00 is a great deal for any mother's proudest day.

This post is to show the difference between modern and classic styles though modern can sometimes mean the latest trend, currently this trend is vintage which holds the classic appeal. Women are all different and that's what makes every woman's wedding special.
